Open mic night at the same place from four months ago

We went to an open mic! It was a smaller crowd, but I felt way better.

I said some things and played some simple shit. I had little to no anxiety. It was nice. I told them how I had first performed here a few months ago and I've still been playing but this is my second performance.

I played two more Seitz songs and the Veracini Gigue. I was happy with it.

After I sat down I got a couple compliments. Hunter, our waiter was very nice about it. Said he didn't realize he needed to hear violin until he heard it. He also compared my playing to others he knows and commented on my comfort and skill. It was really nice to hear all that whilst not reeling back from anxiety. After a guy named Sunny came up and said some nice things. He played some amazing folk stuff after.

Evan had gone up and read two poems. He was a shade nervous. He picked some good poems though. I think people were happy to hear something different. Drawn by his performative qualities and subject matter. It was good.

Glad we did it. We are going to stick around for another open mic of some kind. Either general open mic on Thursday or poetry specific on Friday.
