First full day together

I'm surprised at myself. So far traveling with someone else with me has been easier than I though. Kinks still to be smoothed out but I'm not shy or reserved at all. So, what did we get up to?

We awoke somewhere in New York. We found a great shaded spot in the far reaches of a large commercial plot that held a Walmart. We were headed for Atlantic City New Jersey.

It took us a while but we got there, found free parking, and started walking. Dreary, abandoned buildings lined the shoreline until you got close enough to the piers. It was strange seeing such large buildings empty.

On the shore, there was a massive pipeline cutting the sand. After asking a local about it, it apparently supports the shore revitalization project. Where the pipeline sits now, is where high tide used to land. And there was now at least ten extra feet of shore. Everyone sat on the far side of the pipe. Gnarly.

There was a monument for the Korean War. Along on wall of it the had plaques dedicated to men who had received the medal of honor, telling of their heroism. Most of their stories included grenades and the gall to pick one up and try to throw it back into enemy territory. Visceral.

The boardwalk is huge. Likely many miles long, up to ten? Damn. We stepped in the water, and walked around. Back at the van we ate some food, talked, and then headed for our destination Walmart outside of Philadelphia.
