Another violin-in-park conversation

After finally getting my ass back on the road. I decided to stop in a nearby city back to Richmond for a rest and violin time in a park.

After a nap, I walked out to the paved path at the edge of the small river and found a bench.

Really Universe?

As I played my first song, a woman with her dog stopped and sat on the ground listening. The conversation after has left me spinning all day.

We shared a lot of commonality in some of the ways we view reality which got us going. And once we started she shared some remarkable stories with me.

The singing girl.

One story began with her hearing a young girl singing in the distance at this very same park. Upon walking up she found a young girl with her mother. Having no longer heard the singing, my new friend went to a spot beside the river and began singing herself.

Not soon after, the young girl stripped naked, ran towards her and splashed into the river and began dancing. Surprised my new friend stopped singing. The girl looked at her with the kind of disappointment that screamed "why did you stop!" So she continued.

In hindsight, my friend determined that it was not the girls actual voice she heard singing in the distance, but the voice of her energy calling her to the river so they could share this moment.

A man in a sinking boat

Another story at this same park, she spied a man in a boat without an oar, only a stick. And the boat, was taking on water. Compelled she began a conversation from the bank, following along trying to comprehend what he was saying.

He opted to pull the boat up at a small dock so they could talk more intimately.

He told her that he was intending to kill himself. He just found this boat and figured this was how to go and went on. Then he said he had had a vision, of speaking with a woman on a dock that saved him. Which deeply struck him.

After some conversation he realized how he wished to fight for life, and went on with his boat journey in a totally different energy.

My story

After dispelling my anxiety through a song I was ready to tell her my story. And mention I am transgender. Clearly the universe needed us to connect.

Something I adore, which I am lucky for, is the few times when I say I am transgender, and a person asks which way. My hopes is that they see me as female so easily that they aren't sure if I've just "started" or already "finished". It feels validating to me.

Low and behold, she has children who recently came out as transgender. And we got to share some perspectives about the issue. What an amazing conversation.

We truly connected on some level, and I really hope I get to play music with her on the way down again.
